There are homes that remind you you’re in Hawaii…and then there are homes that make you wonder why you’d ever be anywhere else. In Kona Bay Estates, the rhythm of the day is set by the ocean. Morning coffee comes slowly with the birds, then moves into a balmy day with a walk on the beach, an ocean swim, a bike ride into town or a book beside the spa. Evenings end with spectacular sunsets, the sound of surf, and one more linger on the lanai beneath endless stars. Beautifully updated and impeccably maintained, this Kona Coast retreat was designed for effortless island living. Soaring ceilings and abundant natural light create an open, welcoming feel, while lush tropical landscaping and swaying palms blur the line between indoors and out. Improvements include: new bathroom tile shower and flooring, refreshed interior paint, enhanced landscaping, new windows and sliders glass, and an updated kitchen with KitchenAid gas range and dishwasher. A new bar refrigerator, stylish furnishings, fully owned photovoltaic and solar hot water systems, and an EV charger complete the home. But perhaps the greatest luxury is outside the front door. Kona Bay Estates is one of Kona’s most coveted gated oceanfront residential communities, offering 24-hour security and something increasingly difficult to find: a true neighborhood beside the sea. Keiki Beach, the community’s white sand beach, is a short stroll away for swimming, snorkeling, whale-watching or simply catching sunset with your toes in the sand. Set immediately adjacent to the historic Thurston Estate yet just minutes from Kona Town, Kailua Pier, dining and shopping, KBE offers the rare combination of privacy, oceanfront lifestyle and walkable convenience. Here, flip-flops are preferred footwear, the ocean is part of everyday life, and Hawaii feels exactly as you hoped it would. Part-time used as a licensed, exceptional (5-stars) short-term rental with more than 80 glowing reviews.
