Rarely available beautiful turnkey off grid 3-acre property located at the very front of the Fern Forest Vacation Estates subdivision on paved Ala Kapena (no need to drive 15 minutes on unpaved roads to get home!). With a recently renovated cabin offering approximately 528 sq ft of living space, this cozy retreat features 2 comfortable bedrooms (each with its own half bath), an inviting entry/living area with a functional kitchen space, and a full bathroom (with separate shower). The home comes with its own new compact and sufficient solar system with panels and inverter; a complete water catchment system with water pump, pressure tank and filtration; and an efficient on demand propane water heater. Another bedroom was recently ingeniously built near the home, under a tent on top of a solid wooden platform, and tastefully furnished. This guest suite also boasts its own solar system for all its electrical needs. Nearby is a large nursery recently used to grow tomatoes and a very large tent cover in front of the house, ideal for parking or multiple projects. There is an incredible cave entrance in the back of the property with lava tubes! Most of the 3 acres is forest with ohia trees, ferns, and orchids, with several mature fruit trees (citrus, avocado). The property front entrance is landscaped, with an entry gate and fencing for added privacy, and a winding road, surrounded by lush vegetation, accessing the house. Should you need to connect to the grid, electricity is available through Hawaiian Electric Special Subdivision Project Provision (SSPP), with an estimated fee of $2, 844. Fern Forest Volcano Estates is located higher up the mountain with cooler temperatures, between quaint Volcano and convenient Keaau. For complete subdivision details and documents, visit htttps://fernforestcommunityassociation.com.
